Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is among the most effective ways to upgrade your equipment without relying on big-ticket drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upp your items efficiently.
Upgrades to equipment grant an increase in the item's stats. This bonus scales depending on the rarity and quality of the upgrade component.
Components
Upgrade components are the parts that can make your weapons and armor better. You can locate them by destroying enemies, purchasing them from karma vendors or finding them in the form of item-spheres. They can also be rescued from equipment with them or by using an advanced salvage kit such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. In contrast to other items, upgrade components are not destroyed when removed from an item.
Upgrade components are primarily used to improve an item however, they can also be used for other purposes. They can be stacked to increase the quality of an item that can be upgraded or they can be used to enhance the experience gained by upgrading an existing weapon or piece of gear. They can also be forged to provide extra bonuses. A glyph that has been crafted can increase the chances of upgrading its target, while a boost upgrade increases the defense or attack capabilities of a weapon.
Selecting an upgrade template in the GUI will let you bind it to an item. It will display a list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench for selecting an upgrade template. In either scenario, an item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components have been gathered.
Each component has its own experience multiplier, which determines how much more experience an item receives when it is upgraded with the component. Organic components, like, have more experience multipliers than mechanical components. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade using organic components until you have reached the multiplier of experience for the next level of the weapon or gear, and then switch to mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the multiplier of experience every item also has a maximum number of upgrades it can receive. The number of upgrades are determined by the rank that can be upgraded and the upgrade type of the upgradeable item. The highest upgrade possible is a weapon of the tier 10. However, the most commonly used weapon upgrades are the tier 6 weapon and an armor upgrade of tier 5.

Sets
A set is a collection of items that share a bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once and each upgrade boosts the amount of bonuses that are guaranteed. The first time you upgrade an item, its primary stat will be +1. On subsequent upgrades, primary stats are enhanced even more (for instance the +1 bonus for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded one of its stats will increase randomly.
Upgrades can also boost the base damage of a weapon. This could be crucial for certain types of builds. However, weapons cannot be upgraded to have a higher maximum defense roll than their base. It is a good way to improve the value of a set and unique items, however it's important to note that they might not be superior to a high-level runeword in any build.
If the item you're upgrading comes with a guaranteed bonus it is able to be rerolled a few times, and then its guarantee will be reset to zero. The same power dies are used to roll an item, just as it would be used to upgrade it. However, the new item has different bonuses. The NPC [ArmorBoboko Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll require a power dice of each kind (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 7 drops from bosses) and the appropriate amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector, and can be purchased using Gold. NPCs will also provide special rewards for each completed stage of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled once and the reroll will use the same materials as the original item.
Rerolling
If a player has enough to reroll tokens, they are able to play rerolling any item they have acquired during the game. If an item is rerolled, it will be replaced with the same level in another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased from the store for an amount of in-game currency. However, they are not refundable. The new item upgraded will have the same benefits of the previous one however, its stats will be different as well.
In addition to rerolling items players can also change the identification of any equipment by engaging with an upgrader NPC. The equipment's identification will change from a weapons to armor, or vice versa. The base requirements and stats remain the same. The change will be permanent and will affect all characters that own the gear.
Players can also increase the level of an item equipped equipment by acquiring upgrade components and communicating with the item's upgrader NPC. This will cost a set amount of crests as well as Valorstones depending on the upgrade track and kind. Each step will give 5% more damage to weapons.
Upgrades can boost the effectiveness of an item, but they also decrease its quality. Therefore, it is crucial to balance the two. Certain items aren't worth upgrading, while other items require upgrading to make them more effective. For example an individual player may want to upgrade a piece of breakpoint armor that has an interesting modifier ( percent chance of blocking or FHR) to see what it can become.
The primary reason why people play rerolls in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is because they're trying to obtain a particular character or weapon that they wouldn't otherwise be able to acquire. Getting these items can be expensive and time-consuming, and the RNG gods don't always want to cooperate. The only other options are to spend money or grind a lot. Rerolling is extremely popular in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can choose whether to upgrade the weapon or armor when upgrading an item. This feature isn't available in the current version of the game. I believe it was designed to be a way to increase the value of rare items, but as gear in general drops fairly quickly and is only upgraded once you've reached a certain level it is likely that you will replace the item before it gets too old. It's not worth it to upgrade item s with gem sockets as the power of the gem will outweigh the higher ilvl that comes with the upgrade.
You will see a small window when you click the upgrade option on an item. It will show the template for the item, its crest, and the cost for Valorstone to raise the item's level. The costs will vary between weapons and armor as well, with the former typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template outlines the stats that will be added to an upgraded item along with its current ilvl.
The cost of the Valorstone and Crest is calculated using the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. Additionally the ilvl of a new upgraded item will be reduced by the template's lvl decrease percentage. For instance weapons with an upgrade decrease of 8% will reduce its value by 8-8 percent.
In addition to the increase in ilvl base, the item will also receive upgrades in other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damage, dodge, block, and parry rating. These increases are dependent on the upgrade template.
In the upgrade template, you can check the amount of damage or defense the item will be able to sustain after being leveled up. This is shown below the cost and upgrade percentages. Apart from the practice equipment, all items and armor get the same stats once leveled up. The market will determine the value of these stats. A weapon or armor that has perfect rolls can fetch a much higher price than a non-upp’d version. This is also true for other pieces of armor like circlets and tiaras.
